A bunch of Internet sites suddenly think the writers strike is over just because Michael Eisner today says it is. Earth To Web: Eisner hasn't mattered since 2004-2005 when he was kicked to the curb by Disney and its shareholders. Or was Eisner trying to manipulate the price of all that Disney stock he owns? That said, I'll be posting an anticipated timetable of WGA meets/votes about the proposed writer-mogul deal. (UPDATE: WGA Confab Timetable For Next Few Days.)

Well you don’t need to be such a bitch about it.

I’m going to wait for something official from the WGA, stating they have a tentative agreement. Just because some big shot goes on television and makes this statement doesn’t mean it’s true.

So Michael Eisner and an anonymous commenter say that the strike is over. Hey, newvoice, who are you? What do you do on your show? What’s the name of your show? What network is it on? How many episodes were ordered? Let’s have some details so the rest of us can’t call bullshit on your anonymous post.

Are we conning ourselves or what? The AMPTP had a script. They wrote it and recited it page by page from the first day. They’re getting to the end of their script. The only question is, what happens then?
The last line of the script seems to say, “We build public and industry opinion against the writers, we give them a sop and they roll over without too much protest, and pretty soon we’ll have killed these unions and never have to deal with them again.”
Fade out.
Or not.

Love that pic of Eisner!
Guess what? The moguls can proclaim what they want, but any strike informed and supportive fan knows that if it ain’t posted on the wga.org, it ain’t so.
Hang in there WGA! Get what you want!

Eisner is the only person as far out of Hollywood as me. And that’s pretty damn far.

It would be so lovely if michael eisner would just *fade to black*. Michael, your time of having any relevance in this business… is over!
Show some dignity, and just go away.

Sandy is correct - AMPTP has had a script from the start.
However, in their arrogance and smug self-assuredness, they made a couple of serious miscalculations. First, they did not account for the empowering effect of the internet on getting the truth out there and unifying strikers. Gone are the days where AMPTP controls all outlets of info. Furthermore, their old school bully tactics are an anachronism, and Counter is ineffective.
Don’t roll over now, WGA.
