Will This Be More Of Harry Sloan's B.S.?

I'm told Sunday's New York Times will publish a long-in-the-works takeout examining whether MGM studios is on the brink. Harry Sloan was interviewed extensively for it...

  1. Nikki, I generally find your doubting nature a kind of beacon in this crazy town, but I am curious as to why you treat Sloan and his work at MGM with such disdain. He’s done some interesting hiring, and the money Mary Parent is spending on new projects is real. So wazzup with the cynicism on this subject? What do you know that we don’t know?

  2. ‘on the brink’ of what? greatness, going under? Damn, that MGM seems to be one very jinxed studio, much to the credit of owners and regimes.

  3. “MORE of Harry Sloan’s B.S.?” What does that even mean?

Is it B.S. that MGM hired Mary Parent?
Is it B.S. that MGM is staffing up with production personnel?
Is it B.S. that MGM is buying up properties to put into production?

There’s some B.S. floating around alright, but it’s not coming from Harry Sloan.

  4. Bullshit? again, your snide comments will be proven wrong. Is it just that you hate the studios? MGM invests in Mary Parent. Spends untold millions to obtain some of the hottest projects in town………but, of course, what has that got to do with anything.

  5. Nikki hates everyone except that “ballsy” Jeff Bewkes, don’t you know?

  6. MGM is filled with morons. Buy another script about hot-tubbing time travelers, you idiots.

  7. MGM, Sloan is so easy to read that he is leveraging anything he “had ” to try and win back everything he leveraged. People should learn the history of hollywood so they can see how history dictates the currant state of the struggle to be a studio with more than and ex -producer and their relationships to talent . No one cares what you did , they want to know what you can do . It’s not about saying you are going to compete , you have to prove you know where your going and where you came from , nobody i hollywood is very smart unless they are old or young and know how to listen to “real hollywood”. This is high school and Harry Sloan has a proven record of reducing MGM into a business seminar on how to lose your value and become history as told to by Sony . Remember RKO , their still around but do they matter to anyone ? SLoan is pictured at a desk with no one in the chairs on the phone asking if he has any meetings ? It’s worth a thousand words but he sold it for 300$ . Learn or die
