So what is the point of this, anyways?
Why don’t they call it the “By Invitation Only” film fest.

Industry parties. How trendy. Do people watch movies at any point during the film festival?
Thanks for a reminder of how elitist Hollywood is. I’d forgotten.

Larry, the “Invitation Only” events are mostly parties, meals, and cocktails. There are 13 special events, out of 50, that the public can attend, but Nikki didn’t list all the movies that are available for public viewing during the festival. Besides, these are “Industry events.”

The point of these wonderfully inventive events are so that film makers can make contacts–it is a way for those who don’t have a lot of access to schmooze.
Tribeca is one of the most organized and film maker friendly festivals on the planet!

I was priviledged to be able to Volunteer atthe film festival, where I met many wonderful people.
The film festival is for everyone and the tickets to the movies, i feel, are reasonable $8 m-f and $15 S&S
This was started to bring life back into an area that was so devestaed by 9/11
Thank you Mr R, D
