I'm told that at noon yesterday picketers at the Genessee Gate of CBS saw a truck from Yellow Transportation Inc stop short of the entrance. The Teamster driver hopped out, got on his cell phone to dispatch, then approached the WGA strikers.
Driver: "I thought you guys had an agreement."
Picketers: "Not yet."
Driver: "Well, then they're not getting their delivery today."
Applause and cheers erupted from the line. With that, the Teamster sped off.

I haven’t heard the fat lady yet…..I’ll wait.

This makes me want to call my uncle, who was a Teamster for decades, and say something nice.

Dumbass. Make the damn delivery. This isn’t your fight.

Seriously. What are they trying to pressure the AMPTP to do? They already got them back to the table. Why so much pressure?

That’s why you have to walk the picket line. It does make a difference.

This made me smile.
On the line: couple of cents per dollar. Strike: hundreds of millions of dollars to date. Laborers of all types supporting the right to a fair deal for generations to come: priceless.

It’s nice to finally see a story about the Genessee Line, or as we like to call this forgotten line, “the renegade line”. Thanks Nikki for the heads up. BTW folks, many teamsters like the studio transportation (Local 399) and others (I am a local 495) have been picketing here.

Dave, Dave, Dave,
Some day you will grow up and get a big boy job? …….Do your parents know you are on the computer.

Cocdor,
Some day, perhaps you will learn to type proper english. Or, at least, not flame people who aren’t being rude when making a point. You ARE being rude, so it’s open season on you.
Your first sentence should have been a statement, the second should have been a question, and the “……” in the middle wasn’t needed, because we as readers know to pause when there’s a period.

Lurker,
Well if it isn’t the self-appointed sheriff of message board grammar. Having some fun playing “producer” and offering your idiotic notes? By the way, English is spelled with a capital “E”. And since when is calling someone a “Dumbass” not rude? Hypocrite.
Comment by Ronaldo Donald — February 6, 2008 @ 6:43 pm
Ronaldo,
Die, you nobody. The fact you think I’m a producer is nothing short of laughable. If only you knew. To reiterate, die. You’re worthless.
