We then marched around the lot to Amy Pascal's office to "say hi and blow kisses" for about 10 minutes before we called it a day.

Tom Mankiewicz co-wrote "The Man With The Golden Gun", and "Diamonds Are Forever" with screenwriter Richard Maibaum. Mr. Mankiewicz's other James Bond screenplay credit (sole credit) was on "Live and Let Die". Richard Maibaum wrote a total of 13 James Bond films, co-credited with writers such as Paul Dehn , George MacDonald Fraser, Christopher Wood and Michael G. Wilson. Mr. Maibaum walked away from his writing assignment on "Licence To Kill" due to the WGA strike of 1988. He also quit his job as Executive Producer of MGM's television department as a result of the WGA strike of 1960. Even though he was employed as a producer only he left that position in solidarity with his fellow writers and did not want to be put in the position of having to consider hiring non-WGA personnel for the studio. Mr. Maibaum passed away in 1991 but I am sure he would be pounding the pavement, in the rain, if he were still with us today.
