Pellicano: How Far Back Will Probe Go?

eagle_seal.jpgI'm told that prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney's Office working on the Pellicano case are telling victims that the plan is to investigate the P.I. thug's activities from 1997 to the time of the November 2002 raid on his office. That seems to answer questions about just how far back the probe intends to go. (Though this doesn't finalize the issue of whether a statute of limitations applies to the crimes.) On the other hand, in the words of one prosecutor to a victim, "You never know what roads will lead to the next layer." Translation: If the investigators can make a case for going back earlier than 1997, they will certainly try.
