Don’t forget the overzealous media who shoved this movie down America’s throat under the pretense of it being “hip” and “independent” and the “little indie that could”, just like LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and CRASH.

To me, all three are just low-budget studio films.

And are the Indie Spirits THAT hard-up for quality films that they give “Best First Director” to a guy with 20 years in the biz who made an INSANELY boring amnesia/heist thriller….simply because it’s his first film?

THANK YOU! Ever since that heavy-handed after-school special CRASH (blasphemy!) swindled Hollywood’s adulation a few years ago, I’ve seriously begun to question the collective taste of this industry. I’m glad I’m not the only one that found JUNO painfully up its own ass. Diablo Cody has only to thank the exceedingly talented actors and Jason Reitman for the attention this film has received.

Here’s a hint: if your lead character’s most winning trait is that she seems to know your movie is shite, you’re not doing such good work. Truly a marketing victory if there ever was one.
