AMPTP Finally To Fight Video With Video

I'm told the AMPTP's so-called PR council formed by corporate youtubelogo.jpgcommunications execs at the studios and networks really want to make their own clever YouTube videos to compete with the ones up and running by striking WGA members. No greenlights yet. Until then, here's a wry WGA-member written video entitled "Harsh Words" -- a riff on the actors-scribes "Speechless" campaign -- purporting to state a very unofficial AMPTP position. (It's a fake AMPTP video, guys, not a real one.)

  1. That’s gotta be a unitedhollywood effort. It’s much too clever to be AMPTP.

  2. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

    HA HA HA

    OK, I’m done. No, wait,

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    (wipes tears from eyes)

Can you even imagine what the process will be like? The notes? The endless rewrites? The dumb fucking ideas that everyone has to suck their teeth and pretend to ‘take on board’? And how crap it’s going to be in the end?

This is going to be the writers’ best video by far.

  3. Do we really think this is serious? It plays like an over the top satire, like that video where TV’s Frank played a Producer, or those “Hollywood Scab Writer” videos.

SMH this is a competition. Instead of making videos, they need to concentrate on making a deal. I watched the video on Youtube. Some call it satire, I call it disrespectful.

  7. OH. MY. GOD.

    I can’t wait.

People are going to have a field day should these ever appear.

Remember when you could make your own car ad with company-approved stock footage and what people came up with?

Wait until they get a hold of AMPTP footage.

  8. I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of the writer hired to craft that one…

  9. So… scab. All that writing I’m doing where my pay is routed through Botswana and my daughter’s paypal account, that’s called “scab” writing?

    Kidding… Kidding…

May the strike be short and the outcome fruitful (for wga). Or fruity. Fruity sounds nice.
