Jake, how true! Writers, editors, anchors and producers outside the guild are also getting screwed by Internet usage.

Stay strong writers and keep walking for the win. There needs to be acknowledgment of the web's impact with compensation for profits and revenue.

"Supernatural is one of the best written shows on Television…"

You're right, it is really good, which makes it strange that the CW paired it with what's probably the worst written show on television.

JM-
And by the way, those TV reporters will never see a cent, even though their news story packages are repurposed online, on digital platforms, and sometimes on several newscasts, and even on several channels! They get a base salary, but no residual whatsoever, even though the 24/7 news cycle means their work is rebroadcast countless times!
Unfortunately, the inequities are everywhere.

Hilarious! If you've checked out any of the 'extensive' online coverage of the strike covered by the local news networks on their websites, you'll notice that before watching any of the TV news, you'll have to sit through... a commercial! Ha! They're even making advertising money from the re-run of the news covering the strike! Incredible.

WTF is up with LA Times headline-- coverage of the march..

Writers strike could cost $21.3 million a day

I don't know if that's supposed to be good (WGA doing damage to AMPTP's bottom line) or bad (WGA getting people fired before christmas), but if it is true, this means one week of the town shutting down costs about as much as to produce a $200m summer blockbuster.

And there's this huge march-- great visuals-- but no photos on the LATimes website's front page? (Finally-- I don't know why the WGA estimated this at 4,000 as there were CLEARLY more people on Hollywood Blvd. than there were at the Fox rally, which police estimated at 5,000.)

Don't sell yourself short WGA. I'd estimate at least 5K if not much more...

Ben Edlund rules, he is so funny, what a cute daughter he has. Supernatural is one of the best written shows on Television... :)
