ICM says it was an amicable parting of the ways. But one of my sources within the agency says it wasn't because of a TV deal that didn't happen. "Name calling ensued and Billy had had enough. Lots of this kind of dysfunction happening." I hear Billy Crystal is going back to CAA's Richard Lovett. Then again, Billy's been on the agency merry-go-round for many, many years now.

Honestly who cares about billy crystal - hes soooooo over!

Well all I can say is that Billy Crystal doesn’t have Mike Jelline running his acting career. If you talk to Jason O’Mara (Life on Mars) and Ali Larter (Heroes) there very happy with ICM.

Billy Crystal = Robin Williams = 1987

Who cares who represents him? This isn’t someone who’s on the radar anymore.
With that said, I cannot believe that Richard Lovett is going to spend anytime representing this guy.
Lovett isn’t bad at pushing “old time” clients that he’s had for ages (see Field, Sally…who is a big favie of Richard) but i doubt he’d care about BC.

If I’m not mistaken ICM killed for him (as they seem to do for everyone). I feel like we all read about a lot of good coming out of that place daily - why do they get the shaft? Billy’s a treasure and any agency would take him on. Question is what’s his next move? Good luck. I’d go to ICM for representation!!!

Stealing clients from ICM is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel

ha, ha
looks like ICM is planting [painfully obvious] pro-ICM comments on this board.
the best thing that ever happened to my career ICM-wise was dropping them

Who is jason o’mara? Hilarious you have to indicate what tv show he’s on.
ICM tv stinks, talent and lit.

And the trainwreck that is ICM continues…and the way they treated their agents and employees…they deserve everything they get.
Agents and clients jumping ship like rats on the Titanic. Believe me, if their clients had even half a clue about the absolute chaos and uselessnesses going on within their back-office and leadership…they’d be leaving in droves. Those new owners run around like chickens with their heads cut off. The agents can’t stand the new leadership…and the new leadership has done NOTHING but squander any momentum they would/should have had with their useless acquisitions. Thinking bankers would have even a clue about the entertainment business was a laughable mistake, looking back in hindsight, eh? These dopes weren’t able to make payroll on time within MONTHS of taking ownsership. Hmmmm….think there’s some cash flow issues going on over at ICM?
RIP

This is what happens when companies get too full of themselves.
Once the shit flies, the rats scurry.
In regard to Billy Crystal, he hasn’t been relevant (or in a hit) since 1989 so, for all intends and purposes, Abdul at the local 99 Cent Store could represent him and his career wouldn’t be any worse.

“And the trainwreck that is ICM continues…and the way they treated their agents and employees…they deserve everything they get.”
As a former employee of ICM, there is not a truer statement. 95% of the agents are so paralyzed with insecurity that it manifests into a superiority complex that they take out on anyone that can’t fire them. It’s truly a horrible place to work. Agents don’t trust one another and don’t know how to combine efforts. Most agents don’t know their co-workers and more importantly, have no interest in anyone but themselves. For example, ICM represents Chris Brown, who is HUGE, yet no one is utilizing him for movie roles, TV guest appearances, nothing. ICM doesn’t have much talent left, but the talent they do have is not being used intelligently.
We all don’t respect people who throw fits, have an aura of smugness or arrogance, but if you’re Scott Rudin, people will tolerate it because you have power. ICM agents carry all those attributes without the power.
Here’s an example of what kind of children work as agents over at ICM. Each Monday, male agents would come in using Ari’s lines from Sunday night’s Entourage. These impressionable agents would use Ari’s character as a guideline for the kind of humor and dialogue they use in the workplace.

Billy who?
Eer..maybe I am too young to know this guy. Did he acted with the other has-been Pacino in some silly comedy or something? Oh wait! That was another has-been DeNiro..oops!

This is really weird. I had to check the web site I was on when I read this … after all, the article didn’t blame the ‘moguls’.
Eh - probably an oversight. I am sure this was them, though!
