Any reason to think that Bert and Tony have scripted up a fine tale to tell? The cross by the Gov't offers more surprise.

I don't know what Pellicano expects but he has put on a hopelessly incompetent and almost nonexistent defense. I would put the odds of him being convinced at about 98%. And if convicted, he's going to get a jail sentence which will pretty much ensure that he will die in jail.

Does Pellicano know he is being rowed out to sea?

When did Fredo know? Did he ever know?

Re: "Anonymous 11:23 a.m."

Why can't (won't?) the government effectively prosecute even the most obvious cases when they're entertainment related?

If Pellicano isn't turning on Fields, does that mean he expects to get off and then resume the same activities together?

Without Pellicano turning on him, there's no evidence to indict Fields. Sure he must have known what Pellicano was doing was illegal but there's no legal proof of that. And the feds aren't deciding to let him testify as a witness. He's being called by Pellicano's co-defendant and the feds have no way of stopping that.
