I believe Ms. Reardon’s highest priority at the moment is playing brinkmanship games with SAG so she and AFTRA as an institution can feel ‘powerful’ - while the best interests of the members are often ignored.

AFTRA did put out an e-mail blast - that’s how most of us learned of this.

And it already has done plenty of organizing - that’s why MeFirst is so upset. When the MeFirsters were still turning their surgically altered noses up at cable, AFTRA was making deals.

Now morons like Bateman and Joliffe are whining… their idea of organizing is global hoax one.

If AFTRA wishes to expand and thrive as a union, they should do the hard organizing work in the news field. Why aren’t major cable news outlets like CNN and Fox News organized under AFTRA??? Shouldn’t bringing those unprotected workers into the fold be Ms. Reardon’s highest priority???

Why is it that I hear important breaking news about AFTRA from Nikki Finke (no offense, NF). What I mean is: as a member of this union why am I not receiving e-mail blasts from them directly? Why do they communicate exclusivelywith the press and not their membership?
