I've had complications from dental work, and now I'm in pain when I try to talk. So I'm going silent until this clears up. I'd appreciate it very much if, for the next few days, you could please email tips and info instead of phone. Thanks!

When I had my root canal recently, my dentist said that taking 2 extra-strength Tylenol at the exact same time as taking 2 Advil often was as effective as Rx narcotic he gave me for killer pain — and he was right. The 4 together worked even better for me than the Rx. Hope you feel better soon.

    I remember my own root canal, the freezing didn’t exactly take, and two weeks later, the tooth split in two, and had to be recapped. So I can sympathize.

  9. I was just at the dentist today too, but it was mostly painless, just installing a filling.

    As for the idea of combining acetaminophen and ibuprofen, I’ve heard that it works even better if they’re used alternately, each at its standard dose schedule, so just as one is tailing off the other is peaking.
